Industrial Edge Hub 3.8.0¶

Support for signing container images belonging to Device Applications¶

When Industrial Edge Device Applications are handed over to the app release process, container signatures are now attached additionally within the signing process.

The docker-compose.yml file in the Industrial Edge App is re-tagged and mapped to the app version for avoiding conflicts with already existing image tags directing to different image hashes.

Older Industrial Edge Management versions not supporting container signatures are loading the signed images by using the same loading mechanism as before.

Digital integration of Industry Mall licenses¶

The Industrial Edge Hub 3.8.0 release introduces comprehensive digital integration for licenses acquired through the Industry Mall. These licenses are now incorporated into the existing license monitoring framework, aligning their functionality with licenses procured via the Industrial Edge Marketplace.

For Hubs with active Industry Mall licenses, key enhancements include:

Centralized monitoring: All active licenses, irrespective of their purchase origin (Industrial Edge Marketplace or Industry Mall), are now subject to unified digital tracking and calculation within the license monitoring system.
Digital assignment capability: You are now empowered to digitally assign these licenses to target Industrial Edge Managements or Industrial Edge Devices, facilitating precise license allocation.
Automated compliance guidance: The system will provide automated notifications and guidance pertaining to license compliance, enhancing transparency and supporting proactive management.
License inventory export: The capability to download license inventory in Excel format has been enabled. This includes the integration of Industry Mall licenses into existing License Management and License Compliance Excel reports, alongside the introduction of a dedicated Industry Mall Excel file providing detailed information on all corresponding purchased licenses.

Multiversion support for products in Library¶

Users can now select the device application version to copy to their IEMs in the Library, instead of copying only the latest version. Release notes for all available product versions can also be viewed here.

Product distribution settings¶

A new Product distribution settings page is introduced, where app partners can make the configurations required to distribute their products. This enables app partners to do the following directly from the user interface:

Read and accept the ecosystem agreement
Fill out the Industrial Edge Hub registration form that is essential for app signing and getting your products ready for distribution
Create a request for the App Seller role that is needed to access the Product selling page to sell apps via the Industrial Edge Marketplace
