You would like to become an Industrial Edge Device Builder? You are just a few steps away to kick-start your Device Builder journey:

Device Builder is a defined ecosystem role for partners

The Device Builder is a defined ecosystem role which will be only given to selected partners. If you are interested to become a Device Builder please contact us at industrialedgeecosystem.industry@siemens.com and we will setup a meeting to discuss the partnership.

1. Get your Industrial Edge Hub Access

The single entry point is the Industrial Edge Hub. Here you will find all the relevant software and tools to setup your development environment. Please purchase your personal access at the Marketplace

China Region

For users in China region please purchase your personal access at the Marketplace China

Once the HUB Access was succesfully created, please contact the Industrial Edge Ecosystem team to onboard as a Device Builder and the role assignment.

2. Install and Activate the Industrial Edge Management

  • Please follow IEM offerings to choose your IEM offering then install and activate the IEM instance.

Please make sure to activate the Device Builder role during IEM instance creation

3. Integrate the Industrial Edge Runtime

It's easy as pie!

Quickstart

*Download the Industrial Edge Runtime. (you need to have Device Builder role to download the packages) * Run docker compose up * Onboard your first Edge Device

4. Release your device

In order to onboard your device, several prerequisites have to be fulfilled:

If you finished developing your device and the Device Type was created successfully the onboarding process can be started. Therefor please sync with the Industrial Edge Ecosystem Team to coordinate the next steps in the onboarding process.

In consultation with us we will publish your device type to our testing stage, where we will do our technical and commercial onboarding checks (the QGate). After your device successfully passed all these checks, we get in touch with you to publish your device globally.
