App Onboarding Ecosystem review

Welcome to the Ecosystem review process, the pipeline to getting your app approved for the marketplace. Our team performs a comprehensive evaluation of your application against our Ecosystem framework, including quality and security checks, to ensure that it meets our high standards for proven quality. Once your application successfully passes the Ecosystem review, it will enter the publicity state, meaning that it's approved for release in the marketplace and can be purchased by others. We understand that this is a crucial step for you as an app provider, and we're committed to making the process as transparent and streamlined as possible. This document is intended to provide you with an overview of the quality test process, input conditions, and technical test cases involved in the Ecosystem review. By following these guidelines and preparing your application accordingly, you can increase your chances of success and ensure that your app is ready to meet the needs of our marketplace users. Thank you for choosing to submit your application for the Ecosystem review process. We're excited to work with you and help you achieve success in the marketplace.

Why the Ecosystem review?

We are conducting an Ecosystem review to ensure that the application fits within the Ecosystem framework. Our focus on security involves conducting security checks to minimize risks for our customers. To enable sales, we are addressing sales problems by identifying target customer groups and creating a clear selling scenario for the app. Scalability is also a key factor, as we aim to enhance trust in the quality of your app to sell it at scale. Finally, we aim to increase trustworthiness by implementing a standardized onboarding process, which will improve the reliability of your app. By focusing on these key areas, we can ensure that your app meets the needs of our customers, provides high-quality user experiences, and can be sold at scale with confidence.

Purpose

2 Phases of the Ecosystem review

  1. Initial Phase: In this phase, the focus is on determining whether you have all the necessary components to start the Ecosystem review. Some of the key points to consider in this phase include for example:

    • Use case description
    • Default user/licenses if user management is included and a license mechanism
    • Manual and or technical description

By focusing on these key points during the initial phase, you can ensure that you have everything you need to start the Ecosystem review and set it up for success.

  2. Testing Phase: The testing phase involves the actual testing of the quallity and analysis of the Ecosystem. Some of the key points to consider in this phase include:

    • Fit for Ecosystem review: Determine if the app fits the scope of the Ecosystem review and if it can be properly analyzed.
    • Compatibility testing: Test the app's compatibility with other components of the Ecosystem, such as other apps, devices, and version of the runtime.
    • Security testing: Test the app's security measures to ensure that it is safe to use and that it doesn't pose any security risks to the Ecosystem.
    • Recovery testing: Test the app's ability to recover from system failures or other issues to ensure that it can maintain uptime and availability.
    • Quality checks: Perform a final check to ensure that the app meets all the quality requirements, such as performance, stability, and usability.
    • Usability checks: Test the app's usability to ensure that it provides a good user experience and that it is easy to use and navigate.
    • Compatibility checks: Double-check the app's compatibility with other components of the Ecosystem to ensure that it won't cause any issues after deployment.

By focusing on these key points during the testing phase, you can ensure that the app is ready to be deployed to the Ecosystem and that it will function properly and without any issues.
