API Access and Management - Overview

After you have accepted the Ecosystem Agreement in the "Product Management" menu item, the api_icon.png icon is enabled in the top-right corner in the header of the IE Hub. Through the api_icon.png icon, you can create maximum 3 accounts whom you can grant access to the Product Management APIs. The users must not be registered members of the respective hub.

Automatically publishing app versions

You can use the Product Management APIs to automatically publish app versions to the IE Hub by using the Industrial Edge App Publisher (IEAP) CLI. To do so, you must proceed as follows:

  • Log into the IE Hub.
  • Download and install the latest version of the IEAP CLI.
  • Grant access to the Product Management APIs to the respective users.
  • Integrate the credentials (email address and password) into your pipeline along with the latest IEAP CLI version.

If everything is set up properly and when running the pipeline, the pipeline releases the latest app versions automatically with the help of the IEAP CLI.
