Creating a new Edge App

Industrial Edge Publisher converts images from Docker repositories located in a tar file, on a Docker Engine or a Docker Hub and generates apps for Edge Devices.

Procedure

  1. Click Create in the Standalone Applications section.
    The Create Application screen opens.

  2. Enter the name of the App in the Application Name input field.

  3. Enter the name of the app repository in the Repository Name input field.

  4. Enter the web page of the app provider in the Website input field.

  5. Optionally, select the Use Edge Device Auth Service check box to enable the authorization service to access the app for multiple users.
    Select 1 of the following sign up types:

    • Sign up requires an invitation code
    • Sign up is open to all - optional invitation code
    • Sign up is open to all - no invitation code offered
    • Sign up is disabled - app owner manually creates account

  6. If required, select the External Configurator check box to use an external app configurator.
    When enabled, enter the URL of the external configurator via which you configure the app you want to create.

  7. Add a description in the Description input field.

  8. Select the icon of the app.
    You can add custom icons by clicking on the plus icon and adding an image.

  9. Click Create.
